Membership/How to Join
Its Easy to Join

You can become a member of the Roseau Co-operative Credit Union Ltd (RCCU) if you:

  • can use its services
  • are 15 years old  
  • are a citizen or resident of the Commonwealth of Dominica
  • have a parent who is from the Dominica

If you qualify, simply visit our Member Services Department and our caring and helpful staff will assist you in becoming a member and part owner of the largest credit union in Dominica and OECS.

Bring along a valid photo identification and at least EC$70.00, to cover the cost of one Share at $50 plus new member account fees. You will need to provide basic information about yourself for the Membership Card and for opening the Member Share Capital Account.

You can still join RCCU if you are a member of another credit union but wish to benefit from RCCU's wide range of quality and modern services. But first, you must seek permission from the Commissioner of Co-operatives in keeping with Section 23 (4) of the Co-operatives Society Act of Dominica, No. 15 of 1996.

RCCU welcomes you into its family of depositors. Have a parent or guardian open a Young Savers Account for you and hand it over at 15 when you come of age for RCCU membership.

If you live overseas or are a business, co-operative, organization, church, club, school you can still open an account with RCCU. See details below.

Simply apply in writing, by mail, email or fax, and we will promptly send you a Membership Card. When completing the card you are to ensure that:

1. You sign the card
2. It is witnessed and signed by two persons
3. You enter one or more beneficiaries in the event of death

The Card is to be duly notarized and returned to us by registered mail with the following:

  • A certified copy of your birth certificate or a valid photo identification confirming date of birth – if you are a Dominican living overseas or
  • A certified copy of your birth certificate and a parent’s birth certificate – if you are of Dominican parentage (born of a Domincan parent)
  • A minimum of EC $70.00. This amount covers one Member Share  at EC$50.00 and new member account fees of  EC$20.00. Money can be sent by bank draft, or international money order. Click here to see ways you can transfer funds to Dominica. 

After the account is opened, do remember to inform promptly of changes in address, marital status and beneficiary. Whenever there is a change in your life, please let us know.

Note: All members/depositors are required to complete a Declaration of Source of Funds (DSF) form for ALL deposits of $10,000 and over, or on any lesser amount as determined by the Credit Union.
